We are on the Ruby in mid December. Can anyone give me any information about this ship....any secrets, what not to miss, what we should order for dinner, anything that will help us out.

THanks!

Here is a link to a review we wrote of her Maiden Voyage, with tons of pics: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=876030&highlight=

Favorites for us:

Crooners on Deck 7

Adagio for an after dinner drink (try the Tiramisu martini)

Pub Lunch in the Wheel House

Elegant Decor throughout

We really liked the Texas Chili for dinner (1st night I believe).

Hey CL-JW,

Is there anything about that Caribe Balcony cabin that you might tell me.

How was the bed/mattress?

Any 'vibrating' motion from being towards the aft of the Ruby?

Other tips?

Thanks!

The Caribe balcony cabins are great - the balconies are half covered and half open and are huge.

We really didn't have any noticeable vibration in that location.

The beds were fine for us, though firm. Some folks do like to get the egg crate toppers.

We always try to get a Caribe if we're doing a balcony.

We were in an Aft balcony on Baha deck last January. There was very little motion. Just enough to gently rock me to sleep!

As for a do not miss, try the Pub Lunch in the Wheelhouse Bar on sea days. The Fish and Chips are awesome. Also, the pizza near the pool is some of the best I have ever tasted.

If you like it quiet with no kids, try the Terrace Pool at the back of the ship. Nice view too!
