AFT_LOVER Posted November 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2009 with 2 Tropical storms (Ida & a newbie) building in the lower Gulf head to East & West. So the folks leaving for South, West or East will get a ride. SO get your BONINE or whatever seasick remedy you like cause you will need it. One month til Jewel carries us so I am rooting for more fun there going West.

scchasgal Posted November 6, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 6, 2009 Is there a website to go to to track these? The official website is www.http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ I don't know where the original poster gets another one but right now TS Ida is the only one around in the Atlantic storm basin. EDIT NOTE: On accuweather they mention another storm with tropical characteristics but it is not a tropical storm or even tropical depression as of this time

If all this "fun" comes during my cruise, the week before yours, I will haunt your cruise, insuring you have just as much fun as we did;). Seriously, I don't wish any storms on the folks in the Caribbean, nor here in Florida. We need a few years of quiet, so our insurance rates go back down (yeah right). sanbmet Posted November 7, 2009 #6 Share Posted November 7, 2009 I would hardly call a hurricane or a tropical storm "fun".

You wouldn't be writing this if you have experienced a hurricane (and lived to tell about it)....

On2CDWrld Posted November 7, 2009 #9 Share Posted November 7, 2009 DMH15, How was the Stern cabin on your SA voyage? Was it usable or were the seas, winds and temps foreboding?

scchasgal Posted November 8, 2009 #12 Share Posted November 8, 2009 :eek:OMG..how long do they last. I sail our from Miami on Sunday!!:o Do you mean next Sunday or today??? You posted yesterday so I can't tell. Which itinerary are you on out of Miami? If doing eastern caribbean the seas may be a little more active but not bad at all. Following a hurricane on a western caribbean itinerary it will be rough but the good news is you won't be in the actual storm. The storm is suppose to make landfall around the Florida panhandle Tuesday morning (in a couple of days)
