mcbrides Posted May 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 18, 2004 From the diagrams, it looks like the cabins by the elevator have a bigger balcony? Does anyone know if that's correct? Has anyone had a problem with noise by the elevators?
JMG Posted May 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 18, 2004 We were in #9092. It was great! We found the stateroom to be quiet. I was concerned with people walking by the stateroom that we might get some noise...but we never heard people going past our doorway. We did not heard the elevator. One evening I heard a little music drifting up from the Atrium but it was not a problem. The balcony is very large. We had 2 lounge chairs, 2 "regular" balcony chairs, 2 tables and space to move around all that furniture. It is a great location. Right at the top of the stairs, it is easy to go up to the pool or down to the public areas without having to walk a long corridor.
Lynne&Barry Posted May 18, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 18, 2004 I agree, although our experience was on the Radiance, but the rooms are set up the same way. We chose room 9078, as the balcony appeared so much larger than most. What a great move that was. It sounds just like the description of room 9092. We've booked another cruise on the Radiance 10-6-04, in the same room!!!!!!!!!
holomuku Posted May 19, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 19, 2004 We've got 1558 on the Jewel (next to the royal suite). any input on that cabin? Looks to have a bigger balcony and good location for elevator--I'd sure love to hear from someone who has stayed in that cabin in the Serenade or the Jewel. (realizing the Jewel just set sail that's not too likely- but you never know!) thank you in advance
English Rose Posted January 25, 2005 #5 Share Posted January 25, 2005 I have just done a search and found this for cabin 1558. If you are still around, or anyone else that has stayed in this cabin. Any info please! This is for the Serenade of the Sea. Thank you.
Gumtree Posted January 25, 2005 #6 Share Posted January 25, 2005 Lynne & Barry and JMG -- I've posted a question trying to decide between an E1 hump (#8102 on the Jewel) vs a D1 with a standard balcony. D1 humps aren't available on my cruise and I'm trying to decide whether I should go with the smaller cabin - big balcony, or larger cabin - smaller balcony. Two adults & two teens. I'd appreciate any insight that you could give me.
bigbratt Posted January 25, 2005 #7 Share Posted January 25, 2005 We were on the Brilliance last May and can't remember the exact room # but we were on the 8th deck on the hump next to the elevator. I checked on line and noticed the balcony looked much larger and switched our room to it AND IT WAS HUGE!! Never heard any noise. Plus you only have one side with anyone on it. It had 2 lounge chairs, table and 2 chairs. Wonderful.
jules71 Posted January 28, 2005 #8 Share Posted January 28, 2005 We have cabins 9078 and 9076 booked -- has anyone had those cabins before -- do they have lounge chairs? I read on the board somewhere that if the lounge chairs weren't put in there when the ship was built, you can't bring them in later? Anyone have any information on this? 39august Posted January 28, 2005 #9 Share Posted January 28, 2005 Gumtree- Goodness, I surely wouldn't advise 4 people in an E cabin. In fact the D cabins are only a little over 20 sq. ft. larger. Four are going to be pretty crowded. Any way you could swing an E with larger balcony and an inside for the teens? That way you could have the best of both worlds and 2 bathrooms to boot!
