Suite perk lunch on Pearl embarkation?

To anyone who's recently been on the Pearl with the suite perks, did they have Cagney's open for lunch on embarkation day? We'll be on next week.

When we were on the Gem early last year we asked when we got on board and were told no... only to find out later that it had been open.

Thanks!

It is open for lunch on the day of embarkation, and open for breakfast on the day of disembarkation.

Edited to add: the lunch menu is the same everyday (on the recent Pearl), which was not the way it was on the Jade a few months ago. The Jade had a different menu for lunch every day.

Have to say it was the almost the best part of the trip. Cagney's on the Pearl was open at 1200 on loading day (sorry cruise critics doesn't have red line for spelling :o). It was also open for breakfast at 0630 on leaving day. Hope this helps.

They same thing happend to us on the Dawn last Christmas cruise. We made it clear that we were suite guests and were escorted to the buffet:eek:!!! We were told that Cagneys and the MD was closed. We snuck away and went to Cagneys on our own and in fact it was open and we had a wonderful lunch. Thank you CC family for keeping us informed of what to expect befor we cruise.

Suite perks

If you know what your perks are, and you know how to find Cagney's, just go there on embarkation day before 2:00pm and they WILL serve you.

You can't get into your cabin until after 2:00pm anyway, unless you are in the Garden Villa, then you can drop your stuff off in the Villa go down 1 floor and into Cagney's. We had access to the Villa at about noon on embarkation day.

They usually try to get all the suites ready first so that guests don't have to wait.

We flew non-stop from Dallas to Santiago to get on the Sun (2/14/09). We went with NCL transfers because of the long drive from Santiago to Valparaiso. Of course the port was packed and there was a bus from the big room to the ship. We saw a big sign that said VIP but it was packed. I asked, but it appeared the overflow from the packed room just filled up VIP. One nice lady realized we were in a suite and got us on the next bus, we'd already missed one. Since we'd flown all night we were ready for Il Adagio (no Cagney's on the Sun). We were taken into the Suite check-in and after all the "stuff", Karin, our consierge had Satki, the butler whisk us to Il Adagio which was about to close, I think at 2:00 or 2:30. If we'd tried to drop our bags off first they would have been closed. It really was a wonderful start in Il Adagio. If you are in a suite, check it out with your own eyes.
