bhrm Posted November 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2009 Hello all, My group are going on the Nov 21st cruise on the Crown Princess. Our flight lands at 11:30AM and I believe boarding is at 1PM? Is there anything interesting to do while we wait to board the ship?
WeBeGone Posted November 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2009 Once inside the port area, there is nothing - no restrooms, no cafes, and few benches.
Rare Terre Posted November 15, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 15, 2009 By the time you get your luggage and get to the port, they may have begun boarding. We are also on this sailing; here's a link to the roll call: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=890454 We have a meet and greet scheduled on Sunday at 2:00 at Skywalker's, come join us. Layla Posted November 15, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 15, 2009 You probably won't have to worry about finding anything to do as by the time you get your luggage and a cab/shuttle to the port it will be close to 12:30 and in our experience we've begun boarding at 11:30. You should be able to check in and get right on the ship.
Guest Spo Posted November 15, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 15, 2009 I agree. Head straight for the ship and board!
billet Posted November 15, 2009 #6 Share Posted November 15, 2009 Highly likely they will begin boarding before noon so by the time your group arrives you will be able to walk straight on (or at least line up to walk straight on)
405Landlord Posted November 15, 2009 #7 Share Posted November 15, 2009 Go to the port and board the ship. You will have time to find your cabin and have a buffet lunch before your luggage arrives at your cabin. You can more than likely be unpacked and settled in your room before the ship sails.:D
Colo Cruiser Posted November 15, 2009 #8 Share Posted November 15, 2009 Boarding will already have started by the time you arrive.
B744 Posted November 15, 2009 #9 Share Posted November 15, 2009 Downtown Ft Lauderdale, is not far from the port. If your idea is to avoid the boarding crowds early, that may be a good idea, but don't stay more than about 1 1/2 hours max. downtown. A good place to go would be the Las Olas and Riverwalk area, or to stay closer to the port, the Ft Lauderdale Beach. The other posters idea of going to the ship is not a bad one, just in case something unfortunate happens that would delay you causing you to miss the ship. Treven Posted November 15, 2009 #10 Share Posted November 15, 2009 Ditto, there's really nothing to do in the port area.
