Oasis of the Seas Posted November 20, 2009 #80 Share Posted November 20, 2009 Will there be Karaoke on board? If so, can I bring my own karaoke disc to sing my favorites that are not available on the ships collection? Yes indeed, the On Air Club will feature karaoke ... the music collection is pretty extensive, but you can bring your disc if you so choose. What's on it? Oasis of the Seas Posted November 20, 2009 #81 Share Posted November 20, 2009 Hi Lady O I heard J Rockets was serving breakfast, what is the charge for this, and what is the menu. Donna There is no charge for the diner-style breakfast at Johnny Rockets (it's 4.95 for lunch and dinner). Let me see what we can do about providing you with a menu or a list of the options. Oasis of the Seas Posted November 21, 2009 #85 Share Posted November 21, 2009 Hi Dan,Could you please find out how many people the Rising Tide Bar will hold at one time and can it be reserved for a group function? I've emailed RCCL, Crown & Anchor, and Mr. Fain's office, and no definitive word yet. I'd love it for our Cruise Critic group sailing on the Oasis 9-11-2010. Thanks and have a great time on the Oasis kk Hi kk99, Rising Tide has a capacity for 52 ... I'll have to take a looksee regarding the group function reservations. One interesting note: I don't know if you saw in Cruise Critic's Video Ship Tour, but there are actually various speed settings for the bar/elevator ... three minutes up/down, six minutes up/down, seven minutes up/down ... which can be adjusted according to necessity. melissa@cruisecritic Posted November 21, 2009 #88 Share Posted November 21, 2009 Hi folks, What a WHIRLWIND day... the ship is seriously massive, and, I promise, like nothing you've ever seen. It's been a long time since I walked onboard a ship and had my jaw drop. Incredible! Of course, a ship of this size and style is not for everyone. But I love it. And even if you wouldn't choose it for your own vacation, you have to admit, it's one hell of a ship. I hope you all had a chance to watch our live streaming video (if not, hit up our homepage for the link over). We had a BLAST touring the ship and trying something totally new for us -- Cruise Critic TV :D You'll be getting more answers to your questions from the lovely Lady O throughout the weekend, but here are a few things I have picked up so far: * Cupcake Cupboard. Pretty awesome! $2.50 per cupcake; cake itself is SUPER moist (nothing worse than a dry cupcake) frosting sweet and piled high. The chocolate frosting was very rich; the strawberry tasted a little fake, reports our Copy Editor Ashley. But overall they are very decadent and very well received. Heard "best cupcake of my life" several times. Small place; maybe they'll put a few tables and chairs outside, too? * Boardwalk. Perhaps here most of all you don't feel as if you are on a cruise ship - well, here and Central Park, but hear me out. Between the colorful lights, the merry-go-round music and the smell of the freshly minted ice cream waffle cones, it absolutely feels like the Jersey Shore or Coney Island. Rode the carousel (on the cheetah) and my face hurt from smiling. I haven't been on one of those in years! Ride is free and lasts two minutes. Haven't tried the Seafood Shack yet. Tomorrow! * Nightlife. Ship is bumping as the hours tick on. Here's a tip though: get tickets to shows as soon as you get onboard; we tried to sneak into the comedy show tonight but couldn't. Packed! The Blaze nightclub is posh - velvety seats, funky lighting fixtures - though I wasn't too impressed with the DJ. Not a lot of variety in music, and too much interjection. Let the music play! You could barely see the dance floor beneath the revelers, though; everyone was up and partying. P.S. Someone asked about the casino; still have to find out more about the sportsbook, but there are both manned and electronic poker options (three card stud and lightening poker respectively). There are also manned and electronic roulette wheels. OK, 1:30 a.m.! We'll be up and at 'em early and all over the ship tomorrow, sending back photos, videos, information and answers to more of your questions -- so stay tuned! Oasis of the Seas Posted November 21, 2009 #91 Share Posted November 21, 2009 Can we access the internet using laptops from our cabin? Thanks, Sally Hi Suitedreamer, Wi-Fi is available in each cabin for a fee (standard RCI rates apply; starts at roughly 55 cents per minute, packages bring that rate down). To use it, passengers must first go to the Internet cafe, swipe their keycards and create individual accounts. Thanks, Oasis of the Seas
Oasis of the Seas Posted November 21, 2009 #92 Share Posted November 21, 2009 Will there be a cigar lounge, aka "connosieur club" on the oasis? For the two posters who asked about the cigar lounge ... there won't be one on Oasis of the Seas. But, there will be designated indoor spaces to light up stogies. We'll have to do a little digging for specifics.

Oasis of the Seas Posted November 21, 2009 #95 Share Posted November 21, 2009 During the video tour of Oasis of the Seas, Daniel Williams asked ... How many sun-loungers are on the ship and will it be hard to find one during sea days? We haven't had the chance to experience a true sea day (yet), but Royal Caribbean reported that there are some 2,700 lounge chairs on the ship, one for every cabin (kind of, there are actually 2,704 cabins, but the extra four are there for storage/in case of issues with another passenger cabin). Trying to get some industry figures on chair to passenger ratio on other ships, but it's unlikely we'll get those numbers this weekend. The issue of crowding is more a wait and see thing ... need to see how the various spaces pan out in regards to crowd control.
Oasis of the Seas Posted November 21, 2009 #96 Share Posted November 21, 2009 I would love to see pictures of the cabins! In the casino we've heard there is a high-limit area and private lounge. Is that true? Hi Denise and others who've asked about cabins, Just put together a brand-new cabin slideshow. You can take a look at a bunch of categories. Here's a shot to pique your interest (wink, wink):
