Back to Back cruises

Sorta, for 10 to 20 minutes... then they escort you back onboard.

We got our new S&S cards in the atrium as the last of the pax got off, then they escorted us thru customs to turn in our forms (your luggage stays on the ship) and you can go sit up by the pool and relax in a almost empty ship.

When doing back to back cruises, do you have to disembark in between?
I have not done a B2B myself so far, but from what I've read here on the boards, you do have to disembark.

(DISCLAIMER START) The following information comes from other post on the Cruise Critic boards:

You'll be notified the night before disembarkation day where and when to meet on disembarkation day where you are escorted off the ship by a crew member. You'll have to go thru customs but you don't have to declare anything since you're not really leaving the ship yet and then you're escorted right back onto the ship.

If you have the same cabin for both legs of the B2B you don't have to pack

your bags. If you're changing cabins you'll have to pack your bags and the cabin stewards will move them for you.

(DISCLAIMER END)

I'm doing my first B2B in 12 more days, then I'll have first hand experience with what actually goes on. :D

If I've left out anything about what I've heard about the procedures for doing a B2B someone will chime in.

See, before I finished my post someone already gave you the details.

Getting back on board the ship depends on what mood Customs and Border Protection is in today, sometimes right away, sometimes they make you wait, but they never tell you ahead of time.

Changing cabins is usually pretty painless, you can usually trade hangars between cabins, sometimes even dresser drawers.

I think it depends on the ports and how Customs wants it done. We did a B2B on the Spirit from San Diego and all we had to do was say hello to the customs agents who were processing the non-U.S. passengers early in the morning in a lounge. We had already gotten our new cards the day before. When we left the ship later in the day we had to have them activated at the gangway and our security picture taken.
