Tricky Diggy Posted November 28, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2009 Hello all, Could any experienced caribbean cruiser tell us if we need to get varied currency for the sea princess caribbean dream cruise or is the american dollar accepted in most places? Is there a beareau de change on the ship and are the rates ok? Thanks TD:cool:
Toto2Kansas Posted November 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2009 American Dollars work everywhere in that part of the Caribbean, no need to exchange any currency. ;)
paul929207 Posted November 28, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2009 Make sure you have lots of small US bills. While merchants will accept US money, they often give change in the local currency.

Your best bet is to change money before you leave the UK as you'll probably get the best exchange rate there. The exchange rate on the ship stinks. pretenda Posted November 29, 2009 #6 Share Posted November 29, 2009 Exactly as Paul says - take smaller bills to pay for stuff as they do give change in the local currency which you cannot exchange back - so may as well leave as a tip or put in the charity bag on the plane coming home. We're on CP in Feb - hope you have a great cruise. Glenda and Tony
