griffy Posted December 4, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2009 18 in the ones we've visited. My nephew took a couple of friends and they spent "much" time in Carlos and Charlies.
Rare silentbob007 Posted December 4, 2009 #3 Share Posted December 4, 2009 Not odd ... actually a very common question on these boards. ;) I think a lot of the countries have an 18 yr old drinking age, but usually I think it's more of a "if you can see over the counter and have cash" drinking age. ThePatientOne Posted December 5, 2009 #7 Share Posted December 5, 2009 Heck, if you play your cards right, you can get a good one going for free in Cozumel.. As you visit the shops, they will offer you a "taste" of the different wares for sale.. While each sample is not that much, have enough of them and.... Well you get the idea... JanineM Posted December 6, 2009 #9 Share Posted December 6, 2009 Just be sure to watch that clock! When we've sailed to Coz the ship's time is one hour ahead of island time ... so if the ship sails at 4 and the clock in Carlos & Charlie's reads 4 ---- you've missed the boat! There are lots of videos on You Tube showing people running for ships in Cozumel, and they're usually last seen on a bus taking them back to the city so they can catch a plane to the next port ;)

YEAH, and often those FREE drinks are spiked, that is how they rob many tourists, there was a nightmare story about a couple of "young adults" that missed the boat after they accepted on of those drinks and the girl was sexually assaulted after they had both been drugged. There parents were on the ship and thought they had come back on their own. NEVER accept these free drinks in Mexico at least and I would avoid it anywhere else as well.
