Cancelling a ship booked shore excursion ...

Ok I've never run into this one before. We have one excursion on our upcoming cruise that we had booked through Carnival directly. We have been reading some really bad things about bugs, bites, and all kinds of issues at this particular beach from people having been there in the last month or two and would like to maybe cancel. The question is, if we cancel the excursion are we going to be penalized or will we get a full refund on it? We don't leave until Jan 24th so we are still a ways out from it. Thanks for any info/input!

You can cancel and get a full refund. Here is the info on cancelling a shore excursion booked online.

You have plenty of time to cancel - refund will be put back on your credit card in a couple of weeks. We had to cancel an excursion around 4 days before we left on one of our cruises (dh slipped on black ice and really wrenched his back- it was the Twister/Passion Island excursion in Coz, and he in no way would have survived the Twister portion). Called Carnival, got the shore excursion desk, and even though it was within the 25% penalty period, they let us cancel. It took me working up the food chain (to the supervisor) but they were pretty nice about the whole thing.:)
