HoustonTodd Posted December 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 7, 2009 Ok I've never run into this one before. We have one excursion on our upcoming cruise that we had booked through Carnival directly. We have been reading some really bad things about bugs, bites, and all kinds of issues at this particular beach from people having been there in the last month or two and would like to maybe cancel. The question is, if we cancel the excursion are we going to be penalized or will we get a full refund on it? We don't leave until Jan 24th so we are still a ways out from it. Thanks for any info/input!
eggypann Posted December 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2009 I'd think your cruise is far enough out to cancel without any penalty. However, you should check with your PVP or TA. Good luck!

leigh61870 Posted December 14, 2009 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2009 Houston Todd- forgive my bad memory here, but I want to guess it's your Jamaica one?? Good research there! Were you able to cancel in time?

lady_cruiser Posted December 14, 2009 #6 Share Posted December 14, 2009 We cancelled two excursions in the past. One we lost our money because we cancelled the morning of the tour and the other we got our money credited back to our cc because we cancelled before the cruise started. pe4all Posted December 14, 2009 #7 Share Posted December 14, 2009 You have plenty of time to cancel - refund will be put back on your credit card in a couple of weeks. We had to cancel an excursion around 4 days before we left on one of our cruises (dh slipped on black ice and really wrenched his back- it was the Twister/Passion Island excursion in Coz, and he in no way would have survived the Twister portion). Called Carnival, got the shore excursion desk, and even though it was within the 25% penalty period, they let us cancel. It took me working up the food chain (to the supervisor) but they were pretty nice about the whole thing.:)
Lizzzie35 Posted December 14, 2009 #8 Share Posted December 14, 2009 We just got off the Dream a few days ago... we cancelled an excursion the night before and were refunded in full. I don't think it should be a problem.
