Bridgetown - New year's day / Need suggestions, please.

Hello,

 

We'll dock at Bridgetown for a day: January 1st, 2010 (New years day). I checked, and it appears to be a public holiday (no surprise here).

 

Does anyone know if any restaurants will be open on this day? I'm also looking for suggestions on what to see and do on this day, considering that it's a public holiday :(

This is Holetown Bay, on the West Coast.

 

As long as a North Swell isn't running(makes it all surfy and stirred up)

then you might head here.

 

Most commercial activity in and around Bridgetown will be 'subdued'

although the shops in the cruise terminal might be open..

 

Your best shot is either beach or an island tour, I reckon

but others will chime in with more imaginative suggestions, I'm sure.

Forgot to mention, we are not into swimming and lying around in beaches. However, we don't mind a boardwalk stroll if it's interesting and has nice sights. Thx.

Just to echo what aplmac said. There will not be much happening on New Years day. Your best bet is an island tour. While a stroll along from the boardwalk will be nice an relaxing there will not be much to see.
