Has anyone attached a wireless router to their ship internet connection/laptop in their stateroom and created a wireless bridge to use on board for second staterooms and on deck?

I shared the wired connection over wireless from my macbook... didn't try it outside of the cabin but it worked well there.. Both our iPhones connected just fine. We used skype a lot from our ipoones without any difficulty...

Not to make this a tech forum but how do I share a wired connection from my macbook to my iphone? Can you help or should I just go to system preferences and click on internet sharing?

 

How slow was it, did calls get interrupted often?

sorry it's been a while since I was on. i think you are onboard right now. if you go to the systems preferences->sharing tab then you can pick internet sharing. Choose share your connection from Ethernet to computers using airport. Pick up the network on your iphone and boom! no problem. We never had a problem with dropped or garbled calls, but only made them from our stateroom (ie less than 5 feet from teh computer)

Two versions of Internet. In the library they have two computers that you use with an access card on a per minute basis. There is wired Internet access in the cabin for $35 per day, unlimited use.

 

Sometimes it is not so much share but to be able to move away from the desk without a wire.
