Quick question -dress code in dining room

Can men wear nice dress sandals (Tommy Bahama style) in the main dining room or restaurants on non formal nights? I am not talking about flip flops.

Yes... have seen many nice sandals and linen type pants on Caribbean cruises in the dining room... on NONformal night.
