Leave cruise at earlier port?

We are thinking about doing a transatlantic cruise that starts in Ft. Lauderdale and ends in Rome. It stops in Barcelona two days before Rome and we are thinking about meeting family in Barcelona. Can you leave the ship at an earlier stop? I hate to lose two cruise days but this may end up working out better. Can we do it?

as long as you inform the cruiseline at least a week in advance that they may adjust thier complement imfomation (for immigration and customs) you can do as you like. they will arrange for you to be directed through customs at the port you debark at. have fun!!!:)

Ask the cruiseline, get their response in writing and take it with you.

I have disembarked 4 times before the end of the cruise and all on Celebrity. We did it in Copenhagen, St. Kitts, Gibraltar (for Spain) and Naples (Italy). You send an email to rccl and list your booking #, cabin, date and city to disembark and the ship name and sailing date. You will then receive an email giving you permission to disembark. Bring the e

email response with you. When we were on the Solstice in November I went to guest relations a few days prior to make sure they had our authorization to disembark in Naples. For some reason they did not have it. I went back to our stateroom to get the printed email. It was quickly rectified. You will need to be cleared by immigration in Barcelona when the ship docks. They don't have to see you, just your passports. It should not be any longer than an hour after the ship docks.
