DCREHL Posted January 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2010 Cruising on the Navigator Jan30-4th- want to find a beach that has some decent snorkeling for some novices! Don't want to take the excursion as some in the party don't want to snorkel, hoping to find good beach for both sunning and swimming and snorkeling. Also stopping Ocho Rios, does anyone know if the snorkeling is good there?
Rare Waynetor Posted January 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2010 Labadee is not that big an area. It is a small penisula. You can walk around the whole place in about a half hour. The tip of the penisula is a rock cliff. The central area is all sand. Lots of shady or sunny areas. The beach on the side closest to the ship has the better shorkelling with fish that you you can see without going to far from shore. The opposite side has some fish but not very much. The waters there can also be a bit rougher. Even if you bring your own fins and mask, they require you to rent a safty vest. Wayne S
PattyG12 Posted January 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2010 Labadee is very small. You walk to just about everything there. No need to look for a snorkle beach. I believe it's a dock port now so it will be easy to get on and off. Ocho Rios ... if you don't have anything planned, check out knowjamaica dot com. They offer all sorts of tours are are just wonderful! Are you also going to Grand Cayman? There is a wonderful snorkle/stingray excursion there. Enjoy your cruise!
