Taxi/bus cost to Crane Beach

I have searched and cannot find a definitive answer on how much this 45 minute taxi ride to Crane Beach costs. Also are the steep rocks that hard to climb even with new steps they added? That sounds cheaper than going to the resort and paying $12.50 for the beach pass.

And what Dollar currency are we quoting here???

In all probability, the currency quoted is the Barbados Dollar

which is worth 50 cents in U.S. currency

-thus the Crane for $34 quoted above is $17 in Real Money (US$)

Don't get ripped off:

when asking about costs, please ensure that you're talking Apples for Apples

and not Apples for Oranges, OK? ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

Just returned from Crane beach off the Victory. We caught a cab in port and paid $20 per person round trip (4 of us $ 40 each way). We probably could have haggled and got it cheaper, but there were people everywhere and we just wanted to get going. It is a good 45 minute ride. When we arrived, we checked in at the front desk. The offered us a "day pass" which included a room and full resort access for $45 US per person. We opted for beach only access and were sent to the restaurant to pay. We paid $26 for two to access the beach. In turn we received a food voucher for $26 dollars. We were directed to the beach. We sat in some of the resort chairs and were approached by hotel staff. We showed him our beach access pass and he allowed us to use the chairs even though I do not think they were included. They would not let us use or rent boogie boards or other things from the beach shack. The restaurant is extremely overrated. The food and service was marginal at best. I would never go back. The hotel guests and staff are a total pain in the a**. Snobs is an understatement. The beach is okay, but far from the best beach I have seen. I thought Orient beach in St. Martin was far nicer. There was a beach vendor who would rent chairs/umbrellas (2 chairs 1 umbrella for $20) and boogie boards for $10US. The also sold beer and soda and "hydro". Shady does not even begin to describe these guys. If you have ever been to Jamaica that is a comparison. There was another guy (very nice) walking around who would take your order and deliver to your chair from a local restaurant. The waves were fun, but the water was filled with seaweed. Don't get me wrong it was a fine beach, but I think you can do much better.
