Unique and indigenous souvenir in San Juan?

This is a shopping question. I had plans to buy a t-shirt for every port I visit, but that can add up since we have 4 people in our family. If we have 3 ports of call, that would add up to 12 new t-shirts!!! So besides the obligatory postcards and t-shirts, what else can I buy in San Juan that I can only buy in San Juan? Where can I buy that particular item?

I would love to hear what you have bought in San Juan that is welcomed by friends back home as a GOOD souvenir and not a JUNK souvenir.

TIA.

Try the Butterfly Store. They make pictures and other things out of butterflies (died naturally, we were told). We were there at the end of a very hot day and dh was in a hurry, so I didn't get a chance to check out prices. Some of their pictures were very expensive, however, there might be items that are more reasonable. I'm thinking items like key chains, or picture frames. It's an unusual store, so you might want to give it a try.
