top_frog Posted January 18, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2010 Hi, I will be on the Solstice 3/14/2010. I see on their website that they advertise 2 poker mates in the casino. I can't seem to find any information about this. I am hoping to play a little bit of poker during the week. Can anyone explain what these are? Thanks Jason
Gonzo70 Posted January 18, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2010 On Equinox (Solstice's sister ship) they had two automated poker tables (i.e. no live dealer). It is a regular sized/shape poker table, but the interface is electronic (i.e. the cards, chips etc.). There are eight seats per table. They had twice daily No Limit Texas Hold 'Em tournaments on sea days ($60 entries, eight people tournaments - you could sign in to reserve a slot the morning of the tournament in the casino). In the evenings they had cash games at these tables ($1/$2 No Limit Hold 'Em).
POPDISPLAY Posted April 22, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 22, 2013 They collect a whopping $15 per pot. Total rip off
Desertbelle Posted April 22, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 22, 2013 We have been on several cruises with the Poker Pro tables....you can see one here: http://www.pokertek.com/ Generally we have had no problem getting a game together in the late evenings and in the late afternoons on sea days. You will sign up for a Poker Pro card with one of the casino floor persons and deposit money on the card which you use in the machine. You can add to or take out your money at any time. Most games are 1-2 no limit holdem but if the whole group wanted to make it something else the management doesn't seem to mind. The tables are fairly easy to learn, might take a few minutes to get really comfortable using it, but soon you will be relaxed and enjoying the game. I have never seen them take out more than $10 for a rake (10% up to $10) which is steep, but it's the only game in town, as they say. The machines are programed to not take a rake on uncalled bets. The tables are far better than having an inexperienced blackjack dealer trying to deal poker, which is what we have seen on a few cruises without the electronic tables. On our last cruise there were so many poker players that most nights they had an overflow game going on at one of the blackjack table, so we usually had a nice group of regulars every night. I would be happy to answer any other questions.
