hz6pl8 Posted January 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2010 Has anyone ever cruised on Valentine's Day? Did they do anything special on the ship for the occasion?
bouhunter Posted January 25, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2010 We have a couple times. All I recall is they were selling rose's on the promenade.
Badlands99 Posted January 25, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2010 We'll be disembarking on Valentine's Day. How depressing is that?
Sequim88 Posted May 20, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 20, 2010 Valentine's Day will occur during our cruise next Feb. Was wondering if chances of this being a formal night in MDR would be higher. 3rd night of cruise. Departure from Tortola is at 5:30 (as are most days). Found this thread in search for if they do anything special in MDR (or onboard all day) for Valentine's Day. The cruise timing we thought, being in celebration of my parents' 60th wedding anniversary, was extra appropriate. No idea when the 2nd formal would be. Last day is "cruising" but I've never heard of formal on last day with everyone packing that night. Do they do that? Would make it a lot easier to dress though without rushing back from a port day. flashcat Posted May 20, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 20, 2010 We were on the Voyager this past Valentines's day and other than selling roses, there was nothing special. I was disappointed......
houlacruiser Posted May 20, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 20, 2010 No nothing special. However lots of people decorated their cabins/cabin doors which was nice. :) We embarked on V-day this year and it made it a little extra special.
cb at sea Posted May 20, 2010 #7 Share Posted May 20, 2010 Formal night will NEVER be the 1st night or the last night, because of the luggage/packing issues. The 1st formal night is always night 2...the 2nd is usually the next to last evening. Even if it's on a port day, you'll have plenty of time to dress...it really takes no longer to put on the "fancy" clothes than it does slacks/shirt,etc...! counsdr Posted May 21, 2010 #8 Share Posted May 21, 2010 We were on the same cruise as Houlacruiser on Feb. 14th and nothing special was done by the Explorer, but we had a great Meet and Mingle thread group and some of them made decorations for our doors, others gave out candy, etc. We had fun among ourselves!
