hz6pl8 Posted January 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2010 We are sailing on AOS on 2/14. Do they still do a lobster night? Will it usually be on a formal night? Hubby does not want to dress up but does not want to miss lobster on his well deserved vacation!
YoungPlatinumGuy Posted January 25, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2010 Second formal night on a 7 day. Day 6 in mdr. Called fishermans plate.
compman9 Posted January 25, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2010 Just off a 12 day with three formal nights - no lobster to be seen anywhere I'm afraid.
arb711 Posted January 25, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2010 I was on Adventure last August - lobster was 2nd formal night as usual. Our waiter offered seconds before anyone asked - several takers! :) Then there was one left - no one wanted it - so he kept asking me, finally I said sure! I'm pretty sure I heard one (very skinny) woman at the table gasp. The heck with her - I'll never see her again, and 3 lobster tails is less than one 2-pound lobster, which I consider a meal! :p
cgags47 Posted January 25, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 25, 2010 Haven't had a whole lobster in a while. Lobster tails is what they usually serve now.
Ashland Posted January 25, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 25, 2010 Teeny Tiny...They are so small you would probably have missed them on the Fishermans Plate... if they were there..Sad throw them back in the sea !!!
sbhdmh Posted January 25, 2010 #7 Share Posted January 25, 2010 Really sad - on the Independence earlier this month the lobster was SO undercooked it was the consistency of mashed potatoes. Fortunately even my 5 year old had the good sense to spit it out so no one got sick. It was enough to put me off lobster for a good long time. Hope your dh has a better experience... HappiTravels Posted January 26, 2010 #8 Share Posted January 26, 2010 We just got off the AOS yesterday and Friday night was Lobster night (not a formal night). Even though the Lobster tails are not huge they give you as many of them as you want so it is nothing to complain about.

compman9 Posted January 26, 2010 #10 Share Posted January 26, 2010 Just off a 12 day with three formal nights - no lobster to be seen anywhere I'm afraid. Sorry, I meant to say 14 nights. I wasn't bothered, but no lobster at all is probably not good enough for a respected cruise line in a highly competitive marketplace. Still, the Oasis class ships have to be paid for some how. NathanJax Posted January 26, 2010 #11 Share Posted January 26, 2010 On Oasis, the 2nd formal night (I think) was lobster tail...
seashiner Posted January 26, 2010 #12 Share Posted January 26, 2010 Just off the Explorer 10 night... Lobster was on the second formal night (day 7 or 8) and it was Fabulous! Mine was large enough that I couldn't imagine eating 2.. but my hubbie did. :)

Next day in the Solarium, which on Oasis has a small "health-conscious" buffet, there were lobster tails, apparently extras from lobster night! Won't say how many I had, but it wasn't pretty.! cruzwpj Posted January 26, 2010 #14 Share Posted January 26, 2010 We were on Majesty of the Seas in Sept. and the 2nd formal night was lobster night in the MDR. but we could only have one serving. What we had was very good. MyVal

RCCL does not do lobster in the Med or Middle East cruises (which is where you were) anymore due to quality control issues.
