Versailles on Calle Ocho. It is the iconic Miami Cuban restaurant. Other posters will undoubtedly point out that there is finer, more nuanced modern Cuban cuisine in other restaurants and they are correct. Nevertheless, Versailles offers a very broad variety of good, traditional Cuban dishes at modest prices, has a lively, fun atmosphere and is so large that there is almost never a wait. It is about a $12 cab ride from the La Quinta East at MIA.

In the shopping center across the street from Hampton Inn-Blue Lagoon is Casa Juan; lots of locals and not expensive. We loved it! Good luck!:)
