bhkeys Posted January 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2010 I will be going on my first cruise in March and I'm very excited. I have been reading the boards and was wondering if someone can tell me what rum runners are? I am thinking about tryin to get a box of wine on board in my checked bagse. What does everyone think about that idea. ;)
pabs4 Posted January 26, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2010 Rum Runners are similar to the bladders inside wine boxes. You can fill them with wine, liquor, etc. Pack them in your checked luggage wrapped in beach towels and the xray machine doesn't detect them. We ordered ours from rumrunnerflask.com ;)

Some are sticky on the no alcohol rule where as some allow wine and champagne and some don't really even check. Check out what they are saying in the cruise line forum. Rum runners are fairly inexpensive and will be with me on my cruise in May, full of gin.....hehe :D

bhkeys Posted January 27, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted January 27, 2010 Thanks all for the answer to my question about the rum runners. It looks like something that I would consider taking with me on the cruise. :)

FireMonkey Posted January 30, 2010 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2010 They ship them very quickly. I ordered mine early last week and had them by Friday. 4 day turn around time from time of order to receiving them!
karenanddave Posted January 31, 2010 #8 Share Posted January 31, 2010 They are my saviors! Is this the only/best way to get your own liquor on board? When you board at each port do you put your beach bag, etc through an xray unit or how do they really know? We were thinking of picking up something once we arrived in Miami. Is it best to then transfer it to a rum runner? Thanks!

Johnthed0g Posted February 4, 2010 #10 Share Posted February 4, 2010 Does anyone know if you can get Rum Runners in the UK ? P&O don't really care what you take on, & the spirits by the bottle are cheap, £11 1litre Bacardi
