Cutting it too close?

We need a bit of advice here, we have booked a flight home from Barcelona after our cruise....somehow we overlooked the time the flight leaves.

 

We disembark the ship at 5:00AM and the flight leaves at 7:50AM...

 

So looking for some advice on if we should make it in that time or not?

 

Also wanted to mention that now the prices have went up around $400 so if we can avoid it we want to avoid rebooking :)

 

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

By the time you disembark (not necessarily at 5am, could be later depending on the port authority), get a taxi, go to the airport with a few thousand other passengers, go thru security (especially if going to the US), you will NEVER make a flight out at 7:50am.....:eek:

Not gonna happen. I would stay in Barcelona for a day if this is your only option.

 

You can search on Barcelona and will see some other postings of recent posters and what sort of time they were able to get off and to the airport.

There's no way you'll make that flight. You say you "disembark at 5 a.m." I'm guessing that really your ship arrives in port at 5 a.m. Another hour (or more) before you can get off. And then the trip to the airport.

 

You're gonna have to reschedule.. Sorry.

From what we read, it would be next to impossible to make it to the airport, check in , and go through security for any flight before 9:00 am. So I would not count on making it happen. Our flight is at 10:45 am and we are nervous about making that flight.

Smart move. With the enhanced 2 level security at the Barcelona on flights to the states even if you got off at 5 am you would not make that flight.

debarkation may not be anywhere near 5am. You will never make a 7:50am flight.

Have disembarked twice in Barcelona on NCL. The earliest we got off was 5:40. Not at all likely you can make that 7:40 flight with enhanced security if it is a flight to the U.S. If it a flight to another European city, and then you make a stateside connection, maybe. It is about a 25 minute ride to the airport from the pier.

Just wanted to let everyone know who took the time to respond that we got it changed to a 12:10PM flight. So this should give us enough time to make it now. Maybe not a lot extra but enough to make the flight :)

 

We are staying 2 days before the cruise in Barcelona so didn't want to spend another night after if we could help it :P.

Just to repeat the others - there is NO WAY you would make that flight-your TA should have toldyou that up front when you booked flights/ship.

 

Since you are spending the money at this point - you should try for the next day -get a cheap hotel and check out Barcelona - we were there for 2 days before our European cruise a ;year or so ago -and LOVED the city- so easy to get around (HOHO-the bus system) and just walking thru the old city, Enjoy
