buffett010 Posted February 7, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2010 Are any of the main dining rooms open upon embarkation for luncheon dining, or are we only able to eat in the Windjammer? Thanks!
njhoo Posted February 7, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2010 The dining rooms are closed; however, the pizzeria on the promenade was open for business in January.
buffett010 Posted February 7, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted February 7, 2010 Thanks! Our last cruise was on Princess in October and we really enjoyed eating in the MDR - a lot less crowded. But, WJ still has good selections!

We often go right to the pizzeria when we get on the ship. Most poeple don't know about it, so it is not crowded yet. They have great anti-pasta there too. It's in the front glass case, which most people don't find for days. Lynda

We also did the pizza thing last week and found that it was nice to not be fighting for food on the first day. Nice view on the promenade and great for people watching. buffett010 Posted February 10, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted February 10, 2010 Thank you. It's nice to know there are other options than the Windjammer. I guess I'll just have to see what my son is hungry for that day. He probably won't care too much as he will be ready for the flowrider and the pool. ehfl Posted February 10, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 10, 2010 The staff is VERY busy preparing for the next cruise, so the only the buffet, pizza and deli are open. Let them have a chance to prepare the ship...there is a LOT that has to be done in just a few hours to prepare for the next voyage.
Ashland Posted February 10, 2010 #8 Share Posted February 10, 2010 The MDR will be busy but not with people eating ....they will be checking out their table assignment and standing in line to try to change it..Enjoy !
buffett010 Posted February 10, 2010 Author #9 Share Posted February 10, 2010 ehfl- Really? You need to get rude about it? I was stating an experience on our last cruise and asking a simple question - nowhere did you see me say that I was upset it was closed - just glad that there was more than one option. Posts like yours are why some people get upset at cruise critic. Thank you to all the others who were able to simply answer a simple question! Happy cruising!
