South Pacific Cruises

We took a Princess Cruise in Tahiti a couple of years ago and fell in love with the South Pacific. Looking for another cruise a little further west (ie Somoa, Fiji, New Caladonia, etc). If there is anyone that has already done a similar cruise in this area, would love to hear from you to find out suggestions on cruises and/or best places to visit.

Thanks

Last fall we took the Star Princess from San Francisco to Sydney. It was a 30-day cruise, so this may be too long for you, but it was wonderful. We also cruised back to LA on the same ship. The Sapphire Princess is doing almost the same itinerary this fall in the same time frame - leaving SF on September 22nd. We visited Hawaii, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Moorea, Samoa, Fiji, 4 ports in New Zealand plus cruising Fjordland. Our "turnaround" day was in Sydney. We loved the itinerary and have booked the Sapphire to go again this year !

Similar to Buckey, we took an LA to sydney cruise, also on the Star princess, which stops in a lot of different ports, including the ones you are interested in. Only problem is, these are quite long voyages and you would need about 30 days or more (with flying time) to sail on them. But I have to say, they are fabulous.

Darn we were so looking forward to a Oct 2011 or even 2012 10 day Tahiti cruise but now I read Princess is selling their ship. Anyone have any ideas who will be booking a 10 day?

Last year, Princess announced their "2010-11 worldwide cruise program" on May 8, 2009. This included the Tahiti cruises. If they repeat that schedule, we should be hearing something from Princess in early May. It will be interesting to see what they do in Tahiti, given that they will have one less ship in the fleet.

Given that the Ocean and Pacific Princess are on the other side of the World in Europe till late in the Northern Summer season (as per announded schedule), it will be a late cruise season for Tahiti.

At best I cannot see cruises beginning until December at the earliest.
