Better to take water taxi or regular taxi to Orient Beach?

The "water taxi" is just a small shuttle ferry that loops around Great Bay from the cruise ship pier to the Phillipsburg downtown pier and Bobby's Marina and then back to the cruise ship pier. Orient Beach is a 25 minute cab ride from the cruise ship pier up the highway. Catch a cab at the cruise ship pier, there are marked sections at the pier cab stands for cabs to the different hotspots.

What if it is hot and you want to go to a cool spot?

our cruise will be arrived at Philipsburg, if we'd like to go to Orient Beach, which taxi is better? how long will it take by water taxi or regular taxi?

You will be asked to wait in a staging area, where they will try and get as many people as they can into your taxi (more the better, the cheaper your price will be) You really can't wait for a specific taxi there. Its set up to get as many people out of the pier area as possible as fast as possible....and it works quite will. Just tell the person where you want to go and they will stage you in the area needed.

As said before there really isn't a true water taxi that will get you to Orient. Land based is 20-30 minute ride. There are always several taxi's waiting to get you back to the pier, so no need to worry about that!

thank you for your reply. and how much does it cost for taxi? how many people can be sit in a taxi? i mean is it a car or van? because we have altogether 17 people, we may fill in two or three ot even more taxi with our group and we don't need to keep waiting for others. and if we rent for a whole day, because we'd like to go to Maho beach in the afternoon for one hour to see the plane, then how much is it to rent a whole day?

thanks again.
