navybankerteacher Posted February 27, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2010 Go to Boatyard Beach -- a 10 minute, $5 bus ride gets you there and back - and covers admission. Or try the Mount Gay rum works - free samples, but not a great way to spend a winter weekend in Barbados.

KSCPA Posted February 28, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2010 And this is helpful..... how? I agree!! I find some of these "Seasoned cruiser" to be quite snobby at times. I love this site but certainly could do without the "know it alls"!! Kris There are lots of things to do on this island. If you like snorkeling go to Paynes Bay. Last time here we hired a private taxi, about 8 of us from the ship, we went to Flower Cave-northen most part of island (small Tourist trap but cheap and beautiful), We were not real happy with our driver, he was not very informative, read this site for referrals!! KSCPA Posted March 1, 2010 #7 Share Posted March 1, 2010 Harrisions Cave is OPEN!!!! It was closed for months...check out the website. BarryOtt Posted March 1, 2010 #8 Share Posted March 1, 2010 Concorde Museum (near the airport) Harrison's Cave (it's open!) Four of us rented a taxi at the cruise port for $35(US) each. Driver took us to both places, as well as some other stops. (Golf course where Tiger Woods got married.) All four of us loved both of the above spots...we had been snorkeling on other islands. chachi Posted March 26, 2010 #9 Share Posted March 26, 2010 I would have had this all figured out by now if I were you...not wait until a week out That's great for you, but a week is plenty of time to find something to do. Not everybody lives on cruise critic and plans every detail.

Aligator6182 Posted March 26, 2010 #14 Share Posted March 26, 2010 I second the boatyard. We've been there twice, loved it both times. We've been to malibu once, didn't like it as much. Don't worry if you don't have it figured out. Last month on the caribbean princess we didn't decide to do the KURALU in the BVI until the day before in st. thomas. Turned out great tho. Have fun! jsmjovi Posted March 29, 2010 #18 Share Posted March 29, 2010 We just spent a week in Barbados and did so much! Our highlights were: Bathsheba/Cattlewash - couldn't swim but the beach was so beautiful. Harrison's Cave Little Bay Animal Flower Caves - didn't pay to go in, just walked around the top St John's Parrish - beautiful church and amazing view Brown's Beach was very nice...we also did a beach up by Sandy Lane which was nice too. Earthworks Pottery Hunte's Gardens Oh...and we LOVED the Oistins Fish Fry on Friday night - we ate at George's and I had the best shrimp and flying fish.
