angel 77 Posted March 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2010 Does anyone know if Thrifty offers a transfer from MIA to POM. We will have a car that we are returning to the airport and am wondering how we will get to the port.
jasmith52 Posted March 3, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 3, 2010 angel 77 : I believe that you want to post this in the Florida departures thread: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=495 But to answer your question - If I recall correctly - I don't believe that Thrifty has a shuttle at MIA airport. I believe however that NationalCar/Alamo has an offsite (non-airport) location where they will shuttle you to the port. hope that helps
angel 77 Posted March 4, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted March 4, 2010 Sorry about posting in the wrong place, thanks for correcting that, and for the info. I may just call them and see to be sure.
Neuty Posted March 4, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2010 I too am interested in this. i DO believe i read on here a while back, that Alamo and Thrifty had shuttle service. I believe they share a rental station. I have checked with Enterprise and national so far, and they do NOT have shuttle service to the port. Hope this helps. Bert64 Posted March 5, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2010 We used Dollar last time we picked up at Fll and returned to Mia. They had a shuttle to the port & we got a really good rate from a code we found online. I'd check them out & see if you can find a code, but even without a code, their rates were cheaper. JohninDC Posted March 5, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2010 Avis, Hertz and Enterprise have downtown locations near POM; if they will not shuttle you, a cab to POM should be under $10. A cab from MIA area rental facilities will be between $25-30:eek: Good luck!:)
bubbachief Posted March 5, 2010 #7 Share Posted March 5, 2010 We've used Thrifty in the past, a year ago, and they ran a free shuttle from their off-site MIA location to the POM. Not sure now. I know Alamo does. We are using them this year.

earn Posted March 6, 2010 #9 Share Posted March 6, 2010 We are leaving our car at ALAMO MIA the night before we cruise and we were told there was a free shuttle to the port. On the way back we are hiring the car from ALAMO POM, but not sure how close it is to the ship.
