AkSusan Posted March 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2010 Can any of you give me a recommendation for a restaurant in Anchorage that has wild game on the menu? Thanks Wild game can not be sold commercially only taken for personal use, so that means that the restaurants don't have wild game. You can get reindeer but that's because it's been farmed and it's not wild. Susan in Anchorage :)
wolfie11 Posted March 12, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2010 As Susan said, no native wild game can be commercially sold, so unless you can get an invitation to someone's house for a moose bbq, you're out of luck. However, I did see something recently about farmed elk being available and reindeer sausage is ubiquitous.

Rare tetleytea Posted March 13, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 13, 2010 I've had Musk Ox, too. Tastes just like a bison burger.
Yukon Posted March 13, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 13, 2010 I've had Musk Ox, too. Tastes just like a bison burger. Not if the cook knows what he's doing! It's more like particularly good mutton.
