small painted turtles?

We usually travel to Mexico on March Break and I always buy tiny ( aprox. one inch long) painted turtles with bobbing heads for the kids in my class. Does anyone remember seeing these for sale at any of the islands? St. Thomas, St. Kitt's, Barbados, St. Martin, San Juan. We are going to St. Lucia and Dominica ,but not sure if we will have time to shop. If so, is there an island that usually sells things at a better price?

I remember seeing turtles (and other animals) with bobbing heads

in the flea market over at Marigot -on the French side of St.Martin.

I got my two(I'm just a big kid,sorry) up at the Morne Bruce lookout over Roseau,the capital

-and right at the base of the pier where local vendors also hang out to catch cruisers seeking local souvenirs.

Thanks for the info. St. Martin's is our last port, so I know if I don't see any before then I know I can get them there. Hopefully they sell them in St. Thomas which is our first stop and I can get one job off my list.

I saw them in Bridgetown a couple of weeks ago. It was in a main duty free department store, but I cannot recall the name. They were about US$4 or US$5 each.

They're toys made of wood or plastic or whatever -not living things. ;)
