Anyone ever received any Casino perks?....

Recommended Posts

On two of my 5 cruises, I was offered free drinks, everytime I put my card in the machine, I was a high roller, so perhaps thats why, they would come over, new my name, and I was offered all the drinks I wanted, the sad thing is I do not drink, lol, so I only had a soda.

I've asked on another thread but never found out... how long after a cruise can I expect an offer from the Venetian?

I wonder why kind of play you need to give them to get the hotel offer. This is the first I have heard of it. My last cruise was Dec 09. I would love to get the offer since I enjoy going to Vegas.

We have never received them before and we gamble the same on every cruise and in just about the same amount and with our card always in the slot. The first one we received was in January of this year and we used it in Feb. We are Platinum and shareholders and not sure of what is the criteria to receive them. Like I said we just received our first on in January and we cruise alot.

We got ours about 3 months after the cruise. Look for a post card type thing in the mail. I truly thought it was a "scam", but it was not. If you want to try Vegas (or already like Vegas) it is a great deal.

If you are a Club Grazie (Venetian) member, do "points" you earn on CCL also go towards your Club Grazie account and vice versa?

Thanks!!

I don't think they combine them although when I signed up for Grazie using the free Venetian offer, they seemed very aware of the gambling I did on the ship. We play video poker mainly and slots. When she gave me my Club Grazie card she commented that they had a block of slots and video poker in a certain spot. She mentions she could tell from my players club that I mainly played those.

Hi there

I play a lot at land-based casinos, and usually spend 2-3 hours after dinner in the casino when I'm on the boat. I study gaming player's clubs as a hobby - I like statistics and marketing - as well as out of a vested interest in knowing how to maximize my trinkets! ;)

I am in total agreement that you need to do two things to get noticed/comped on Carnival. (1) play in the casino, although the relationship between points earned and rewards isn't as strict as it is in Vegas, and (2) get to know your casino host(s), dealers, pit bosses, etc. Usually, they LOVE players who are nice to them, will talk to them, and are having fun...as opposed to the grumpy ones.

As far as the Venetian offer, I think I started getting those around 2-3 months after I cruised. I usually get about 1000 pts. per day, and I play everything but craps. No slot machine is too silly for me. Usually, I break even or win a little...so they aren't tracking net proceeds, similar to MGM or Harrah's on land.

There is no Club Grazie point reciprocity, as far as I know.

I usually get a bottle of sparkling wine, some fruit, the choc. covered cherries, and the typical "free drink" letter upon arrival to my cabin. I make it a point to introduce myself to the casino host and dealers the first night, and to thank them for it. That goes a long way.

Likewise, if you qualified to get something "free" in your cabin, they will know who you are and typically know your name from a roster. Once you start playing, you can catch their eye and casually mention what your favorite drink is, and usually get 2-3 per night as long as you are playing. On tables, they rate you if you play $10 or more per hand, although I've been told that that number is discretionary. If you sit at the $25 blackjack table (green action), they're required to come by and see who you are. This is a great opportunity for some light banter - and to prime them for freebies and make sure that they are tracking you.

If you don't drink, tell them that. I've gotten comps at the steakhouse, bottles of wine at dinner, and other gimmes too. The key is that you have to ask, because the system isn't as automatic or standardized as it is on land.

You do NOT have to bet black chips, or play $10 slots exclusively, in order to get some recognition in the casinos. While it helps to rack up the points, it's often charm and being a real person that will win the day.

Hope this helps!

Sam

I send an email before my cruise to the Players club and gave them my past guest #, the 75$ was waiting for me at thew cashiers cage.

If you buy a premium drink, you take your receipt to the casino cage where they will give you a $5 red chip.

Am I missing something? I tried to sign up to let them know when I would be on the Valor, but it only let me enter an email to sign up for emails. Is there something else I'm not seeing?:confused::confused:

Nope, you are seeing correctly. The part that used to allow you to notify them you were sailing again was done away with about 9-12 months ago.

They know if you are onboard and have played significantly in the casino previously. We receive a letter in our cabin with the free drink and 500 point offer without having to notify them in advance.

I also get the letter with 500pts and free drink...Also in my cabin I get either 2 free waters or sodas, photo cpns, room decorations when we are celebrating birthday etc. strawberries(from both ccl and casino) basket of fruit.....along with ccl's choc.strawberries, canapes both fish & little cakes, now picture frames, (used to be thermos, tote bags) key chains, free wash & dry....getting on and off ship earlier.etc...and all this from CCL providing you are a Platinum member.....Once you hit 25 cruises with them you get 25% off your next cruise. I did that and got $175.00 obcredit.Used it on my 26th cruise....

I always call Oceans Players Club and let them know when I am going again...

One time I did get a gift from the casino host only because they were not notified by O.P.Club after I did call them, The host gave us each a shopping bag with a CCL towel, hat, tee shirt, the bag with a large OPC tote bag.drink & photo cpns.

We were on the Miracle in Sept. of 2007, and got the Venetian/Palazzo offer about a year later. Maybe thats when they first started the program. We did take them up on the offer, and a few months ago I got a letter stating I could earn points on my Grazie account while cruising on Carnival. I'll find out this Sept. when we're on the Pride.

The first night on the Miracle, while in the casino, a host came up and introduced himself and offered me a drink. From then on they were comped every night, whenever he saw me.

What do you play on the ship? SLots, if so what denomination? Table games? What kind? How many points did you have? I don't think Platinum has much to do with it as we are Platinum. We play slots all the time, but my husband rarely uses his card. Last cruise I got to 989 in points, but I gave up when I won $400 on a slot machine. If it were $1 a point, I'd have played to 1,000 but that's not what it is.

We play mostly Video poker and some regular slots. We did the slot tournaments - we don't play table games at all. we spend a couple of hundred dollars but we usually come out even. We mostly play 25 cents and on rare occasions $1.00

  • 2 weeks later...

We don't usually gamble but we did last month on the Miracle. We lost way more than we won.

My boyfriend said that he received a letter from Carnival yesterday. (can you guess who did most of the gambling?) I don't have the details yet, want to read the letter for myself, but he said it was a special offer from the Players Club for a certain cruise - 5 days, May 3 on Destiny. I don't remember all the perks he mentioned but I know it included $200 OBC and free drinks as long as you were gambling in the casino... there was more, wish I could remember what all he told me.

Now we're wondering how much the cruise is going to cost if we go through them (it's $369 each for inside on the Carnival website) and then on top of that wondering if we can swing more vacation plus the airfare!! We are so tempted!!

Has anyone else received an offer like this?

I just got the same offer. It includes special boarding and embarkation, bon voyage gift, welcome aboard cocktail party, comped drinks while in the casino, Players Club logo item and great events and raffles throughout the cruise. Also has the $200 OBC. I wonder if they'll offer that for my Sept. Pride cruise. One can only hope!
