Carnival Splendor or Mariner OTS with a 4 year old?

We cruised on the Splendor last May and loved it. My son adored Camp Carnival (actually preferred it to DCL!). We are considering another cruise in October and can't decide between Carnival or Royal Caribbean. A fold down sofa bed is a must! On Carnival we can get a balcony room for $200.00 less than a large oceanview on the Mariner OTS. I have heard great things about Mariner OTS and wonder if we would really be missing out on something by sticking with the already tried and true Splendor. I welcome any advice - especially from those who have sailed on both. Thanks!

If your child loved Camp Carnival, I'd stick with it, for now! RCI's cabins aren't as large as Carnival's (in most cases!) so your money will go further on Carnival, space-wise.

 

The Voyager class ships will still be there when he's a bit older!

I would choose RCI over Carnival any day..... but that's me....
