hi.

could someone advise me about the payment of private tours.

in the process of looking and booking private tours for a party of ten around the med and was wondering what the procedure was as regard to payment/deposit.

have always used the ships tours in the past but they seem to be very expensive.

taking in rome/naples/florence/pisa/Marseilles/provence any advice and tips would be much appreciated

We have found that they run from no pre-payment to payment in full in advance.

We have found that they accept US$ and credit cards and they accept only the local currency. Each vendor sets their own rules. If you don't like them, look for some other vendor

I have sometimes paid a deposit in advance, but usually not. Those that I do pay a deposit said that they would have refunded it if I cancelled so many days out or our ship did not make port. Sometimes they take our credit card number so that if we stand them up, we pay. After having researched them here on CC, I felt confident that I would not get ripped off.
