Dawn: Port Days - Food available onboard?

While in port the breakfast buffet usually begins earlier to accomodate those with early excursions. The Venetian Restaurant is also open for breakfast a little later than the buffet. Both are open for lunch while in port. The Blue Lagoon restaurant is open 24 hours a day whether in port or not. There are no luncheon Barbecues by the pool while in port but there may be one in the evening after sailing. You will never lack for food.

Food, don't worry about food. It's served when the Dawn is in Port, Out of Port, Under the Port, Over the Port - there is food. You will be surprised how many people do not get off the ship when it visits any number of ports. - The breakfasts and lunches are available all of the time with maybe a few changes in the schedule. Dawn's food is average (good but not spectacular)

I stayed on board at a couple of the ports. Did not notice any change in the food schedule. Breakfast and lunch in Venetian. Biffet goes all the time.

I do believe they had a "sail away" BBQ by the pool each day as well. During port days, it was done close to the sailing time (hence the name). Evening meals are on the standard schedule. We had a wonderful table, view and meal at Salsa while docked in St. Thomas. We ate early (around 6pm) and had the place to ourselves with a fantastic window table as the sun was setting over the island.

We had a BBQ every day on our 11 day trip in November. If it was a sea day, the BBQ was at lunch time. If we were in port, they had it around 5ish for sail away. One day they had two BBQs, one during the day and one at night as part of a buffet. When they have that night time BBQ and buffet, do not miss the fresh fruit with chocolate station. And, if you have never sailed NCL, you have no idea what they mean by BBQ. This is a real BBQ with giant Weber charcol grills, quality hamburgers and hot dogs and also chicken, ribs and sausages. The night of that buffet, they were even grilling seafood to add to piaya.
