9 sea days

My DH LOVES sea days so we booked a TA with 9 of them. Well now he's wondering what we are going to do for 9 days at sea. There's only so much Bingo and casino we can do, October should be too chilly for the pool...do they ramp up the activities on cruises with a lot of sea days? Can anyone share their thoughts please? We've been on a dozen cruises so we know the ropes for the most part but just wonder if there's anything different on "low port" cruises. Thanks in advance to the experts! :)

My experience has been that there's always lots of activities to choose from. I mostly read and journal and explore but my husband takes part in all the activities. Each night he takes the ship's daily newsletter, circles the activities he plans to take part in and he carries that with him. If I want a copy I go to the Purser's desk where there's usually extra copies.

I know there are team trivia games. Also sometimes there are craft activities and games like golf putting competitions hosted by a staff member from the Cruise Director's staff. They usually organize all kinds of activities on sea days.

Also, it nice to just sit and chit chat with their other passengers.

Some folks were talking about this a week or two ago. Those that have done it, love it. We did. Have not seen reviews that the sea days were a problem. We are doing the EPIC T/A because we do not want to deal with the same old ports on her future cruises.

Definitely join the roll call for your cruise, if you haven't already. Plan different activities as a group.........create your own scavenger hunts on the ship, cabin crawls, card/board games. group lunches are always fun....the list is endless. You might want to make a general once a day meeting place/time on the ship where those of you who are available can meet up and chat and come up with additional things to do.

The sea day intensive itineraries do have more ship activities..This is why we haven't done a TA cruise except for the No Atlantic..It can get a little long, but there are always trivia games, lots of time to catch up on reading yes, the casino.

Thanks guys, I am looking forward to a lot of relaxing and hope we can use the balcony and it won't be too cold or windy. Sounds like we'll be able to amuse ourselves.

I joined the roll call but it depresses me since so many of the people are doing B2B or B2B2B!!! 2 weeks was all we could take off work before they realize they can do w/o us :D

Hi,

We will be on the same cruise and are not doing B2B or B2B2B. Two weeks is also all that our jobs can do without us:o. We love sea days also but have never had so many in a row. It will be an experience as long as the weather is good.

I'm one of the ones on the roll call doing a b2b2b but if you look at the roll call list and count the b2b's in comparison to all the other names, the b2b's are definitely in the minority. This is our first b2b so I understand how you feel when there are others who get to stay on the ship longer. I've been on cruises when others are staying on for other good ports whereas I have to get off.

If you notice, most of the roll call chat is not about the b2b's but is getting to know each other and is sharing info about our Lisbon and Ponte Delgada port stops. You could post a note in the roll call asking if anyone is interested in getting together on some of the sea days during non-activity time to do other activities, such as board games, card games, crafts, chit-chatting, etc.
