39august Posted March 27, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2010 Are there actual mini-bars on S class ships with liquor to purchase? On RCI, there is only junk food in the mini-fridges.
eandj Posted March 27, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2010 Yes, full mini bars with wine, beer, liquor, soda, water. It can be unlocked by your steward if you think you will need it. If you have soda, water, wine or leftover beer (from the bucket of beer specials), that you want to keep cold, the steward will remove the contents of the fridge so you have room. Rare shipshape sam Posted March 31, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 31, 2010 Celebrity tends to have a more mature / responsible passenger demographic, so.............. We have never used the small liquor bottles, but they are there along with some wine. Do not recall if there are any beers.
cruise53 Posted March 31, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 31, 2010 Yes there are beers in it to. You can tell your cabin steward and he will put what you like in it also.:)
Lsimon Posted March 31, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 31, 2010 Also - the prices are the same as elsewhere on the ship (at least for items that are sold elsewhere). So that it won't cost any more for a beer or soda from the mini fridge than it will from a bar or in the dining room.
39august Posted March 31, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted March 31, 2010 Thanks for all the info. I especially like that the prices are the same. Beats walking to a bar to get a late night cap!

I have always been leary of "mini-bar" prices and never use anything in there. I have known peole to rack up quite a bill in a hotel!
GaryNFla Posted March 31, 2010 #8 Share Posted March 31, 2010 I love having the room steward empty the fridge so we can store our own items..It is not as cold as a normal fridge so be sure and keep plenty of ice in the room..
jdvmd Posted March 31, 2010 #9 Share Posted March 31, 2010 On Celebrity, are Coke or Pepsi products served? Also, does the cabin steward allow the mini bar to remain open until disembarkation? I have had stewards lock the mini bar before on the last night -- Got to have my Diet Coke first thing in the morning. Thanks!

And they will lock the mini-bar the last night on board - so if it isn't clear which products are yours then take them out and ask for extra ice.
