MTElkwhistle Posted March 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2010 Given that Eclipse is sailing out of the UK will on board prices be in £ or $. Looked at tours and drinks packeges yesterday and they are all in £ - is this purely because I am in the UK? and if so can someone tell me the equivalent in $ - would love to know what exchange rate is being used. Adammara Posted March 30, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 30, 2010 As Indepenence of the Seas based in Southampton uses dollars, would expect Eclipse to be the same. Richard
dthompsond1 Posted March 30, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 30, 2010 I have booked a drinks package on Eclipse mini cruise 3 May. I booked it through Celebrity web site and paid in pounds. However it does say that if I cancel before I board my refund will be in pounds but if I cancel when I get on board my refund will be in dollars. So I guess onboard prices are in dollars. MTElkwhistle Posted April 1, 2010 Author #8 Share Posted April 1, 2010 Found it, thanks. I am surprised at the difference in the tour I checked. If I book it online at the GBP price will that definately be honoured? Do I have to pay the day I book it. We usually go it alone but there is one tour I would like to do and its coming in cheaper to book the tour than arrange to hire a car and book independantly. Now I have said that the head honchos will probably re price all the tours. LOL. I guess it will be something to to with the US/Euro rates. If it's a good GBP price and you want to book it now you will have to pay by credit card as part of the booking process but the price is then fixed. On this exchange rate "game" sometimes we win and sometimes we lose.. it certainly pays to check whether it's better to prebook or wait until onboard..that goes for gratuities, wine packages etc as well as excursions. Have a great cruise. :)
