In Sunday's Parade magazine (distributed in many newspapers around the country and also at http://www.parade.com), there was a great article entitled "America's Greatest Train Rides". A small side bar listed "Unforgettable Day Trips by Rail" and it lists both the White Pass & Yukon Route and the Coastal Classic between Anchorage and Seward.

We did the WP & Yukon both directions and enjoyed it very much.Great scenery and very restfull after our full day in Skagway.

We took the Motorcoach down to Seward and stopped at the Conservation Center for lunch,so didn't gey to experience the train ride to Seward
