I'm planning on heading over to paynes early in the morning to see if I can see any Sea Turtles and then would like to take a taxi to Accra. It would be great if I new! Thanks! And its the same price from the ship to Accra $7.50 each God knows I'm NO expert on taxi fares, despite living on da islan'but I think you'll find that those fares quoted above are fares from the Port to Paynes Bay and from the Port to Rockley/Accra. The OP asked about taxi fares,cross-island from Paynes Bay to Rockley/Accra which will be another matter altogether. A lot depends on if you can get a group together to make it worth his while. Assembling 3 or 4 like-minded couples is a definite plus when it comes to taxi fares since a lot of the local guys have these 10-seater vans to fill. . Hurry&Wait Posted July 19, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 19, 2010 Sorry for the delayed reply, but we were in Barbados two weeks ago and did this. The cost for our taxi from Paynes to Accra was $30 total for the two of us. We asked around at Paynes and this appears to have been the going rate. We settled on the rate before jumping in the cab which was a minivan. We had a great taxi driver whom knew the history of the island quite well. I grilled him on Barbados history questions for 25 minutes (I am of the curious type) He knew every answer - it was kind of scary:eek: Great experience.
