Help! Viking River Imperial Jewels of China 2011

I just held a cabin on the 5/5/11 sailing of Viking River's Imperial Jewels of China to celebrate my 65th Birthday. Should probably have asked this question before but figure I still have plenty of time to amend my reservation.

 

I am going from Beijing to Shanghai and have booked a Cat B Cabin on the Port (left) side of the boat. If anyone has already done this trip and can comment if there is a better side to have your cabin on I would greatly appreicate it.

 

I know I will have many more questions along the way and will be watching all the China threads this year to gleen info. Thanks in advance for all your help.

We were on starboard and (trying to remember), I do believe port side DID dock port side most of the time.

 

Other than that, there is no reason to be on one side versus the other.

You spend so little time in your cabin it does not matter where you are located. The only cabins I would suggest you avoid are those at the stern as the engine noise does travel upwards.
