Problem with Static !!

I have one particular sheath dress (lined) that I always seem to have a problem with regarding static. It actually crackles when I even put it on. Besides having to take Static Guard with me, is there any other tricks I can try to eliminate this problem ??

Is the dress washable? If it is, do not dry it completely in the dryer and dry synthetic and cotton fabrics seperately.

 

Static is caused by a buildup of electrons. Try going over it with a wire hanger which is supposed to pick up all those loose electrons.

Rub it down with a dryer sheet. Pack dryer sheets with you when you travel.

when i have the static cling prob i put in a plastic bag with a dryer sheet (i always have them in the suitcases and extras) and shake...but most of the time its like fabrics that dont wrinkle.

Just be careful with the dryer sheet since they can leave marks on some fabrics.

I have used hairspray in an emergency instead of static guard.

Rub it against something that's earthed, and be careful which shoes you wear, if the soles are too thick you won't discharge your own static so will end up clingy again.

 

ETA probably should have said grounded aswell as earthed.
