MamaTene Posted April 13, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2010 Just returned from Glory. They have a "special" on first evening I believe (might be second night). Low Low price ...great deal right? What they dont tell you is that you CANNOT bring it to your cabin for consumption during the week. They deliver it to you on last night of the cruise. Bars7816 Posted April 13, 2010 #5 Share Posted April 13, 2010 Bummer. However, maybe they will make a mistake and deliver two bottles when you only paid for one! Happened to friends. :):)
cruiser0807 Posted April 13, 2010 #6 Share Posted April 13, 2010 Ummm...I thought this was common knowledge. I mean, I'm pretty sure Carnival has something about this in the rules/"things to know" packet they send out to people before the cruise.

That's always been the case. Really not a warning at all. That's why people SMUGGLE, so they can drink their own stuff in their cabin.

Almost EVERYONE knows this -and- I believe there ARE signs in the store indicating that liquor purchases WILL be held. ken
MamaTene Posted April 13, 2010 Author #9 Share Posted April 13, 2010 Hey...what can I say..I'm not a drinker at all so I never read any of the post regarding booze, buying it, smuggling it etc. I just was passing along info that I heard from other folks that fell prey that I thought MIGHT be helpful. Geesh people!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I understand how others have felt around here with some of the responses received.

CruizinMom2c Posted April 13, 2010 #11 Share Posted April 13, 2010 I could see how someone who doesn't drink would not know that... There are things about the Casino I have no clue about...since we don't gamble much.
brainfreeze987 Posted April 13, 2010 #12 Share Posted April 13, 2010 Off the Valor on 4/4. The first night out they were selling bottles of alcohol in the area outside of the stores. They were telling people that yes they could take it to their staterooms. I stopped and asked the man selling it and he agreed that yes you could take it to your room. However, after people bought the bottles they were then told that they could not have them. But while one person was telling the gentleman that bought the alcohol no, the other one was still telling people that yes they could take it with them. Cre Posted April 13, 2010 #14 Share Posted April 13, 2010 Alcohol is = MONEY They want YOU to BUY plenty of drinks throughout the week. Do you really think you would do that if you had your own stash to sip on all week? ITS ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS BABY!

big_duck Posted April 13, 2010 #16 Share Posted April 13, 2010 I just was passing along info that. Fell prey? A bit of an exaggeration don't you think? They didn't overpay for their booze and they got to take it home with them. It's not like this was a scam (inch of gold) or something.
geovet Posted April 13, 2010 #17 Share Posted April 13, 2010 They gave me my booze on the spot last time. I guess they changed the rules

photoman100169 Posted April 14, 2010 #23 Share Posted April 14, 2010 First I have to say that I love this site and have learned ALOT from here. I don't post very often, just kind of lurk around, and this thread shows the exact reason why I don't. Why do some of you people find the need to drag this person through the mud for trying to share something that they learned. Congrats that you and most others already knew this info. Obviously the OP did not, and I'm sure that many new members and new cruisers will not, and will have just learned something that will keep them from being disappointed when their trip comes around. If you already know what is being posted, or don't like the topic I have a simple solution..That little arrow in the top left corner of your window will take you away from this page. There is no need to make someone feel dumb for posting something that they thought might help someone
