Pub............

CRAWL!

Had to be done.

I don't know about the Jewel, but my conditioning on the Star required me to respond with the secret society pep yell.

I agree, a great way to meet fun people.

From one secret society member to another..........PUB CRAWL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

There were three Pub Crawls on the 4/4/10 Jewel sailing. We could only attend one, but had a great time! Dan Dan the Party Man ran them and we had a great time with games and drinks!:)

Three of them...yikes...... I wonder if most people repeat them or just do it once on a cruise. That sailing was a spring break sailing though, right?

It was a Spring Break sailing, but not for college Spring Break. There were lots of kids on board with their parents who were in elementary through high school. Our Pub Crawl ranged in age from mid twenties to sixties. Most were late 20's, I would say. We are in our late 30's and early 40's and felt fine to go. We went to the second one and there were some repeaters from the first one, but only about 10 or so people. The other 20 or so were new. I'm not sure how the third one went, as it was on the last night and we had a lot of packing to do and errands to run around the ship and couldn't attend.

Hopefully, there will be one on your sailing!

Ok, I have to ask. What is the difference between the tasting sessions (for example martini tasting) and the pub crawl?

The pub crawl involves performing little "tasks" with the aim to win to be the first to get your drink - but you can't drink until they say "drink". You also have to be loud and obnoxious and creative and travel the ship visiting 5 bars. A winner is determined at the end and on ours when we won we got an extra drink - shot of tequila. And I would say we were the oldest group, the others being frat guys who just were there for the drinks and other college age groups.

A martini tasting is where they school you on where martinis came from and how to make each one. I think we sampled 5 or 6 the first martini tasting we did and 7 the second martini tasting. I'm sorry I can't recall exactly how many we did the first tasting because we went right after we won the pub crawl!

Personally, I found them both to be a lot of fun and worth the money.

Yes, On my pub crawl on the Dawn the whole group met in Pearly Kings Pub. We all went as a group to 5 different bars. Started at pearly king where we all got a bottle of beer. We had to drink it as fast as we could. I believe they gave us 3 minutes to do it, then if you didnt finish you had to leave it on the bar. Then off to the next bar which was the martini bar. They put us in two lines. They made us a drink, I believe it was a cosmpolitan. The first person drank, after they finished, they second one and so on. The first line that finished all their drinks won. The two people that slowed everyone down the most had to drink this nasty shot they made. On to the third bar and so on. You have to remember this large group, parading through out the ship, singing and Yelling "PUB CRAWL" as loud as we can. The last bar was in the Casino. Where they had our drinks waiting for us. After a couple of Pub Crawl rituals we downed our drinks. After is was over, they gave all the Pub Crawl members a spin on a slot machine to win a free cruise.

All in All it was an Awesome time. And everytime you saw someone on the ship that was in your group...you gave each other a little PUB CRAWL greeting !

PUB CRAWL !!!! :D

The Pub crawl gave us a raffle ticket for each drink you bought or each little task you won. Last bar they pulled for prizes. I won an awesome shore excursion at the last port - for two people! A word to the wise-mark your cabin door somehow. After 5 bars we spent half an hour trying to open the door of the wrong cabin!

Had a blast hope they have one on the Jewel in July.

We were just on the POA and they had two of them! They seemed to be having a great time. :D

I wrote quite a long and caustic letter to NCL regarding the pub crawl/drunken frat party we endured on the POA. Now don't get me wrong, I really don't mind drunken frat parties and have been in the center of many in my day, but there is a time and place for drunken frat parties. The Great Outdoors during dinner, though, is NOT the place for a loud, drunken frat party.
