Nana G Posted April 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2010 Just off the Emerald and we noticed observers on top of the bridge. My husband loves heights and we tried to find out how to get up there but no luck. Anyone know a secret door/stairway> Thanks.

If you go down the hallway on the Lido Deck past the cabins there are doors on each side that lead out to the observation deck. It is only unlocked when they are in port and at sail away time. Not open while at open sea. It is fun to go up there and look around and take pictures when in port. Mike
BigGuy25 Posted April 19, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2010 The door almost looks like a door to a closet or something. When it's closed, most folks, who don't know about the location, walk right by. Once you open that door you'll see a nice wooden door (with a window) that opens out to the deck. If it's not too windy, the door is also open as you approach ports. I know this because we always stay on the Lido deck and I use this spot to take pictures all the time. Mike I've been on Emerald seven times... I have found it locked in port, and open while at sea -- from time to time. When I have found it locked in port, I have asked at the pursers desk if it could be opened. Sometimes I get a helpful J.A.P. who calls the right person and gets it unlocked, and sometimes I get a J.A.P. who just blows me off. I'm always surprised when I happen to find it open at sea. Luck of the draw.
Nana G Posted April 19, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted April 19, 2010 Thanks to all! We too thought it was a closet or private door that was locked.! Will check it out next year!
