When you arrive in your room you will find a book with different headings. One of the headings is room service and it will have the room service menu's. The room service menu's are limited but we have always found enough food to keep us happy. If you have a balcony I highly recommend room service in your balcony in the morning. It is beautiful and relaxing while at sea. A sea day is a great day as you are in no hurry to do anything. Have fun!

Wish the continental breakfast would have more stuff in it but bagel and lox aint bad!

Depends on what part of the country you're from. Only place in Texas that might go for a Bagel and Lox would be a tea-sipper in Austin to my way of thinking...meaning of course no offense to the TU folks.

OK, maybe just a little offense.

Bring a bottle or two of champagne on board with you. Order OJ with your room service and have mimosas on your balcony on sea days with your continental breakfast-we did that twice-two very nice mornings at sea :)

On the Dream you can also order via the TV. It was a real pain, had to check each individual item like butter, any condiments and how many. But you also have to remember to ask for everything you need if you call....but well worth it. Just on last week, never had to wait more then 20 minutes.

Almost always have this when I awake . . . call, place order, take shower, food arrives . . . like clockwork. Can't be beat. :)

Don't forget, you can have a light pre-breakfast from rs on balcony (coffee, juice, muffin etc) and relax a bit before heading to the mdr for the real deal :D

  • 2 weeks later...

I dont recall which cruiseline did this (either NCL or CCL) but I once remember one of my friends was sick and I was able to have food from MDR delivered to stateroom via room service. Does Carnival do this?

I know that you can order from the MDR on Royal but Carnival doesn't deliver MDR food via Room Service. I wish Carnival would do this at least at breakfast time. I would love to have a hot breakfast on my first balcony! Are you reading this Carnival??? :D

May I ask how much tip is appropriate for 2 people? I have read so many different opinions - I am totally confused. :-( Thanks in advance!

It does vary by person and also depends on how much you order. I usually tip $2 or $3 US. If I ordered everything on the menu, I would increase the total tip and probably need a large cabin.
