wrecks Posted May 9, 2010 #26 Share Posted May 9, 2010 How many wines can I bring onboard? Celebrity allows two bottles per stateroom. Does Princess have a limit? No, their contract does not limit wine or champagne but does not allow spirits. Altho not asked the wine tasting is comped for elite passengers. Complimentary Wine Tasting Our Wine Tasting Events are popular and many of our members attend, so we have made arrangements to pick up the cover charge for you! Space is limited at these events so, should you wish to attend, you must confirm with the Circle Host who will contact you at the beginning of your cruise. See you on the water, Rex
Toto2Kansas Posted May 9, 2010 #27 Share Posted May 9, 2010 So the main dinning rooms now have Sommeliers. I was under the impression that just certain specialty restaurants did. But guess I am wrong. Interesting, I have not seen one in the dining room on a Princess ship in many years. I know most ships do not offer this service anymore. Colo Cruiser Posted May 9, 2010 #28 Share Posted May 9, 2010 Interesting, I have not seen one in the dining room on a Princess ship in many years. I know most ships do not offer this service anymore. The Ruby had 2 on our cruise. 1 guy from the US and a gal from SA. They even came to our M&G.
nerysj Posted May 10, 2010 #29 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Does Princess have any wine packages? We had one on RCI which proved to be quite a good overall saving.:p:p

I wonder, since they have 'Vines' now onboard some/many ships, if this is slowly changing?
BalconyGal Posted May 10, 2010 #31 Share Posted May 10, 2010 We live in wine country, and although not wine snobs, do know something about good wines. The cheaper wine tasting event is worth it...the more expensive one, really NOT. Why do you say that? I was planning on doing this next cruise and you would think the more expensive one would be better.
Toddy709 Posted May 10, 2010 #32 Share Posted May 10, 2010 I thought the $9 wine tasting was very average and almost boring (although our table mates were quite fun). On the Crown the $25 wine tasting had much better wine and was much more educational. I won't even consider the $9 tasting anymore and only do the $25 tasting if I'm truly interested in some of the wines they are offering. If I'm not interested in the wines they are offering for tasting, my money is better spent going toward my very own bottle of whatever I choose, IMHO!
