Vienna Restaurant Recommendations

We will be spending 4 days in Vienna prior to our Danube River Cruise in early June. We will be staying at the König von Ungarn Hotel near St Stephan’s Cathedral and are interested in any restaurant recommendations.

In the several times I have visited Vienna, I have always enjoyed the Drei Husaren (Three Hussars) restaurant. It is just off St Stephans plaza, on Weihburggasse 4. They had a very extensive wine list of Austrian wines. A nice atmosphere and pianist. Check it out on the web for reviews.

always a favourite and down a side alley from st stephens is Figlmuller. The biggest schnitzel ever

If you have a car a restaurant that is a bit bizarre but lots of fun is caled Marcherfelderhof. took my mum there for her 60th birthday she loved it.

Another vote for Figlmuller. We had dinner there last year and really enjoyed it. The previous poster is right - wonderful schnitzel.

Of course, you should also go to the Zacher Hotel for some coffee and cake. It will cost you a mint, but the historical perspective is well worth it.
