Best Dinner Table at Sunset?

Choinski

I know there are alot of variables regarding this question, including a clear sky and what direction the ship is pointed - but I'll ask anyway.

If one wanted to view the sunset while dining, where is the best place to be? I'd assume a dining venue with panoramic views - whereby you can look out regardless of the actual direction of travel

Ship in Question: Eurodam in the Mediterranean. If the ship is sailing at the time of sunset, it is likely going to be directly into or away from the sun.

One of the best features of the MDR is its large windows and two story views when cruising in the lands of the midnight suns. But agree when the sun angle is harsh and penetrating, the only solution is to close the curtains. But then be sure to get them opened again when the skies are still light but the sun angle has become more friendly. I am looking forward to a light filled dinner dining room in Alaska in June, but the Baltics and Scandinavia will offer the same thrill. And just the reverse I imagine for Antarctica cruises.

If you are sitting by the window with the setting sun right in your face, it ceases to be pretty because you cannot see it is so bright. We had it happen to us on a Med. cruise once and we had people upset because we wanted the curtain drawn, but they weren't sitting there with it shining right in your face and you couldn't to eat. It almost turned into an ugly situation, but steward did close it for us. so the best seat is not right at the window.
