On Request at Last Minute Travel--what does it mean?

Recommended Posts

Oh darn. Does it sometimes become available?

Most likely the company is sending a request and waiting for an answer to see if anything is available. It is not an across the board unavailable. Keep your fingers crossed and call them to see if they heard back.

Found a great rate on Last Minute Hotel for the Intercontinental for our pre-cruise stay. But, instead of saying Available, it says On Request. Anyone know what this means?

Either the hotel is sold out OR

the company you are going through (usually not the hotel direct) sold out their allotment and must request additional rooms. No gurantee they will get additional rooms.

They will list the hotel in hopes of getting additional rooms, sell you a different hotel or higher price room..

Its also possible they have not updated their web site.

I went ahead and tried to book. They will let me know in 48 hours whether I have a room or not. Worth a try.

Thanks for your help.

they are trying to get it for above their alloted contracted number of rooms, keep your fingers crossed.
